WHO WE ARE

Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN) was incorporated as a Public Charitable Trust on December 20, 1999 (Registration No 143/99 IV). We are a

  • Resource & Support Organization for grassroots NGOs and state nodal agencies
  • Secretariat for theme specific networks
  • Implementing Agency for projects on
    • Watershed and participatory groundwater management
    • Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
    • Rainfed agriculture

We build capacities of state nodal agencies by providing field experience and technical inputs. We facilitate the flow of field experiences into policy making and shares latest policy developments with grassroots NGOs and builds their capacities to access entitlements without dilution.

Vision:

To entrench participatory processes in capacity building, institutional development, networking and advocacy to secure livelihoods of deprived communities in drought prone areas through Natural Resources Management (NRM).
