Strengthening Livelihoods based on
Social Capital base
Andhra
Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Program (APRLP) is an effort at
bringing livelihood focus to the area based watershed
development program. Several experiences have been generated
in this regard within the mainstream watershed development
program over the last 3 to 4 years. Institution building and
convergence of various actors and programs are also at the
center stage of these experiences.
Experiences also emerged from various other programs in the
government and non-government sector sources in the last 10
years. This approach is to build on all such experiences
within APRLP and other programs like IKP by integrating the
lessons into a larger area development approach. This
innovative approach would help in synthesis of various
grass-roots experiences into a coherent large area based
livelihoods development approach.
