Committee (PMC) |
Peoples Monitoring
Committee (PMC) proposes an agenda for people’s
organisations to continuously take stock of the
implementation process, identify the deficiencies in the
implementation and act as a watch group on CLDP. It
continuously bring the issues to the government attention
and also to the public knowledge for change in policy and
practice, if necessary.
The primary purpose of this committee is to strengthen this
program and ensure that the actual objectives of the program
are realized. PMC
propose to involve more
mass organizations, agriculture labour unions and dalit groups in
the committee. We invite you to be part of the PMC and
contribute to the above process.

:: Concept and Strategy :: |
|
The collective initiative of PMC is based on the
realization that an empowered, creative and result
oriented engagement of people with the state and its
programs, is necessary for realizing the stated
objectives of the development programs. This is more
particular to the development programs and
enactments aimed at dalits, tribals, women and other
marginalized sections, given their status in the
Indian social structure.
With this approach, various unions, dalit
organizations, NGOs and others have constituted a
working group of People’s monitoring committee

:: Comprehensive Land Development Programme (CLDP):: |
Government of Andhra Pradesh initiated a Comprehensive Land
development Programme, named ‘Indira Prabha’ for the
development of lands assigned to poor, particularly of S.Cs
and S.Ts in 2004. The finances for this programme are
mobilized from Rural Infrastructure Development Fund of
NABARD as loan in two batches, i.e. RIDF-IX and RIDF - X to
the tune of Rs 500 crores for all the districts in the
state. The activities under RIDF-IX are already started in
November and the activities under RIDF - X started in May
2005. And RIDF - XI batch to the tune of around Rs. 200
crores is going to start later in this year. It is for the
first time such investments were made for the development of
assigned lands.
