WASSAN, a national level resource support organisations, is promoting community centric development policies and programs for natural resource management and rainfed agriculture, through various networks.

WASSAN is functioning as resource organisation Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming and Programme Secretariat for Integrated Farming, Odisha Millets Mission, Jharkhand High Impact Mega Watershed and other major development projects. WASSAN is collaborating with large number of NGO partners, think tanks, foreign universities and state government departments. WASSAN is initiating work on Agro biodiversity in Odisha with focus on Agrobiodiversity registers strengthening biodiversity management committees, preparation and documentation of traditional Knowledge, etc.

CAPACITY BUILDING COORDINATOR

Period of Contract:

The contract will be for a period of 1 year and renewable annually.

Job Overview:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Design, Plan and facilitate implementation of capacity building activities of farmers on natural farming practices with practising farmers resource persons deployed in the project. This will be based on the identification of the capacity development needs of the program.

Roles and Responsibilities:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

• Identify the capacity building requirements of the project, design and develop related modules in coordination with resource persons on the subject.
• Develop capacity development plans along with timelines and implement the same in coordination with resource persons/ organizations.
• Develop training modules, communication material and e-learning material in local languages supporting the CB implementation plans.
• Identify and coordinate with internal and external trainers/ resource persons/ experts/ farmer resource persons to organize the capacity development programs.
• Collate training resource material available and make them available to the project partners; this includes developing and disseminating e-learning material.
• Develop capacity-building action plans and track the physical and financial progress of the capacity building activities at different levels including internal staff capacity building.
• Support in preparing physical and financial progress reports as per the donor requirements and the requirements of the Program review.
• Coordinate with NCNF in supporting the capacity development program of the MP- NCNF Platform.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture /Rural Development/ Social Work/ Design/ Communication/relevant field with 3 years of relevant experience Or Bachelor’s with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in handling capacity-building coordination/management in agriculture or related relevant projects. Experience in state-level management will be preferred.
• Excellent spoken and writing skills in English and Hindi.
• Experience in the design and development of Capacity Building Modules will be an added advantage.
• Experience in CB module/IEC material development in community mobilization/Agriculture/etc. will be preferred.
• Experience in working with NGOs and Government officials is desirable.

PROGRAM STATE COORDINATOR

Project Overview:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To enable Natural Farming-transformation process through field level application of Natural Farming principles, synthesis of location-specific innovations and knowledge and multi-level actor networks and consultations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Overall coordination of the project, developing the program implementation schedules, supporting the team in their functions, tracking the physical and financial progress of the project activities, liaison and timely submission of reports to the Donors.
• Takes Responsibility for the delivery of the project objectives as per the design.
• The Project Coordinator will also anchor the responsibilities of liaison with the Departments of Agriculture, Rural Development and others as per the technical needs of the project such as the establishment of Technical Support Unit, NF Knowledge hub at the state level along with the team under the guidance of the project advisors.
• Coordinate with core partner organizations and the platform of the National Coalition on Natural Farming in taking up capacity building and policy development initiatives on natural farming.
• Coordinate and submit progress reports in the Project Review Meetings and follow up on the actions arising out of it.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture /Rural Development/ Management/ or any other relevant subjects with a minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or related programs.
• Excellent spoken and writing skills in English and Hindi.
• Experience in working with / managing larger-scale state-level projects (government projects in particular) is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGER

Job Overview:

To establish a knowledge hub on local practices in Natural Farming (NF) with resource/communication material for documentation, analysis and synthesizing the experiences and developing communication modules.

Roles and Responsibilities:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Establishing and coordinating the Natural Farming-Knowledge hub (K-Hub) in MP along with the National Coalition of Natural Farming (NCNF).
• Facilitate the K-Hub to compile natural farming practices in different agro-ecological regions of MP; enable documentation of their compilation and developing learning Modules for wider scaling up by CSOs or Government departments.
• Identify learning sites and evolve exposure programs for learning on NF practices.
• Developing Communication material (videos, publications etc.) for wider use.
• Documentation and disseminating innovations; engaging with social media for wider disseminating and using it for out scaling innovative NF practices for farmers through social media.
• Support State coordinator in program implementation and management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Agriculture /Rural Development/ Social Work/ Communication/ with relevant field experience of at least 3 years in knowledge management or related subjects.
• Good skills in communication and social media engagement
