WASSAN, a national level resource support organisations, is promoting community centric development policies and programs for natural resource management and rainfed agriculture, through various networks.

 

WASSAN is functioning as resource organisation Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming and Programme Secretariat for Integrated Farming, Odisha Millets Mission, Jharkhand High Impact Mega Watershed and other major development projects. WASSAN is collaborating with large number of NGO partners, think tanks, foreign universities and state government departments. WASSAN is initiating work on Agro biodiversity in Odisha with focus on Agrobiodiversity registers strengthening biodiversity management committees, preparation and documentation of traditional Knowledge, etc.

Contract will be for a period of 2 years after initial probation period of 6 months, can be extended as per the project need.

Rs.30, 000 to Rs.35, 000 (maximum) per month based on prior work experience.


Job Description
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Program Officer / Livelihood Expert is –

  • Expected to coordinate with NGOs, Community based organizations and Government officials of line departments, and block and district administration in Malkangiri district of Odisha.
  • Expected to support extension officers with microplanning and developing of GPDPs through a Sustainable Integrated Farming Systems lens.
  • Expected to support FPOs with value chain and market linkages, with special focus on organic produce.
  • Expected to support the Special Program on Promotion of Integrated Farming System under socio-economic transformation and upliftment Programme in Swabhiman Anchal, Chitrakonda.
  • Ensure training management, monitor regularly and provide handholding support.
  • Will be responsible for daily project management – both organizational and substantive matters – budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the project.
  • Will be responsible for reporting on project progress vis-à-vis relevant indicators to the Project Team at WASSAN and Government Department.

Desired Candidate Profile
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science or Veterinary Science or Master’s Degree in Agriculture Science or Veterinary Science or Economics, Rural Development or Social Work with good writing and communication skills in English.

  • Candidate must have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in implementing integrated farming system project. Experience of working with FPOs or with animal husbandry would be an advantage.

  • Candidate must have experience of working with NGOs and Government officials.

  • Candidate should be self-driven in bringing in new ideas.

  • Candidate must be well versed with MS Office; knowledge of Gantt charts, indicator preparation, and basic knowledge in budgeting and accounts will be an additional advantage.

  • Candidate will be stationed in Chitrakonda, Malkanagiri and has to travel extensively for field visits and will be travelling inside and outside Odisha as per programme requirements.

Languages

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Odia is a must. Working knowledge of Hindi is an advantage.

Program Officer (Human Resource) – 2 Positions @ State Level

The contract will be for a period of 2 year (first 6 months shall be probation period), renewable for another year subject to satisfactory performance and project period extension.

Purpose of Job:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WASSAN is now seeking an HR Officer with strong generalist experience. This is a full-time position to be based in Bhubaneswar. Responsibilities include recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, talent management, support to finance team and oversight of HR initiatives.

We now need someone who can undertake following tasks:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Coordinate and lead HR, Admin and Safeguard functions of organization.
  • Coordinate with HR team at Head-office and support Programme Managers in the smooth management processes related to HR and other administration process.
  • Create job descriptions
  • Managing hiring process
  • Managing the onboarding of new employees including effective induction
  • Ensure that personnel files are maintained, including records such as ToRs, job descriptions, and performance evaluations.
  • Administering employee benefits and support finance team
  • Oversee periodical employee review systems
  • Organizing staff development programs such as trainings, exposures, etc.
  • Ensure all legal compliance related to HR are met.

  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Excellent judgment and emotional intelligence including negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to consult with staff and adapt practices and processes to address the varied needs and concerns of individuals working remotely, and managers who have remote and in-office staff
  • Strong interpersonal ability to build trust and goodwill with staff and senior management.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, manage projects, work autonomously as well as in teams


Desired Candidate Profile
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Must have Postgraduate preferably MBA (HR) or Personal Management with minimum 4 yrs of work experiences.
  • Have knowledge of HR management packages and working knowledge in Tally will be added advantage
  • Excellent people and communication skills. Proficiency in English and Odia is mandatory.
  • Have good computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PPT, Google Spreadsheet etc.
  • Understanding of agriculture schemes, agriculture related livelihoods and women entrepreneurship will be an added advantage
  • Not have any complaints against him by Government, Civil Society, Community organizations or Private agencies.


Compensation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rs.35,000- 40,000 (maximum) per month based on experience remuneration excluding TA/DA during field visits.
